Only one "fanfair" horn works on 560SEL

All you who know about the 560SEL know they have two horns, the Euro sound and the "fanfair" sound. My car is 86 560SEL. Usually only one of the fanfair horns sound. BUT sometimes they both sound.

Anyone know about the mechanics of the horn? Or just replace it? Seems odd it works sometimes and not others. I loosened the wires and re-tightened to make sure contacts were good.

UPDATE: I took the horn off the car. Hooked it up to 12v power supply. No sound. Then I noticed a tiny screw on the horn body. I twisted that just a hair, both ways. The horn sounded. Don't know what it does. But for now, all horns work.

yeah, it is not unusual for electric horns to have an adjuster screw. this allows
you to field tune the horn. since it's electro-mechanical in design, it may have
just gotten dirty, fatigued, etc.

Yep, "If there is a fault in the horn, adjusting the contact breaker is often the remedy. The adjuster screw is to one side on the front or back."
