NO Power in drive, 500 SE mercedes

Hi All,

my 1991 500 SE, was a non runner.

flushed fuel tank , new pump , filter and cleaned injectors. new spark plugs.

new chain, and new upper guides.

vehicle started perfect and revs well in idle. the compression test is 0ver 180 psi on all eight cylinders.

the problem:

when I drive it has no power, after reaching about 40 KM the auto transmissions seems to very gently change to second gear. but there is not power and the vehicle cannot reach over 60 km.hr.

the timing was checked with a timing light and showed 20 BTDC . is this acceptable?

any ideas on what I could check , would appreciate some responses.

regards
C

Check fuel pressure and fuel VOLUME (is enough fuel flowing). Also fuel system internal leak test (maintains pressure with car off).
