2003 W208 CLK430 Seat issues
I just spent a couple of hours at my local MBZ salvage yard trying to to figure out why my passenger seat won't move forward or raise. I tested the door switch with other door switches. I tested other modules. I even tested two different seat tracks. No change in its current operation.
I did find that the seat module has 5 main connecting plugs. From left to right, the first two move the seat back only. The 3rd connection moves the whole seat bottom up and down. The 4th moves the seat forward and backward. The 5th makes only the seat front move up and down. The problem is my passenger seat doesn't move forward or backward and the front of the seat doesn't move.
I did find that when I take the 4th plug and connect it to the socket for #3, the seat slides forward and backward. Then when I plug the 5th plug into the 3rd socket, the seat front moves up and down. Given that this didn't change when I plugged in other seat modules, this leads me to believe that for some reason sockets 4 and 5 are not getting powered and don't respond to the door switch.
Anyone have any experience with this or any solutions?
Thanks.
