Hanging as in plugged in?

Any numbers or markings on it?

At first I'd think throttle switch but these cars have drive by wire so that can't be it.

Part of the plastic housing is broken away so if there were numbers they are gone

yes, hanging connected to wiring harness.

Does this engine have a dual path intake manifold? If so, perhaps it is a position confirmation switch. If you had a engine wiring diagram it should show a mechanical sw.

That microswitch looks like part of a hood latch switch.
