Adjusting shifter lever
My first W210 practical question - I'm replacing the shifter assembly with an identical but less soda soaked unit. The reaplcement has the same part number but the clevis doesn't engage the shift rod in a way that lets me replace the bolts into the transmission tunnel. It looks like there's an adjustment screw on the side of the shifter assembly, and I assume I can adjust the shift rod. I don't have access to WIS so what's the right way to do this? What should be adjusted?

The rod adjusts, the shifter doesn't and shouldn't need to. No adjustment should be required if just swapping shifters.
