ARGH!! 300E wrecked! 3/3 week

I've had quite the week. If bad things come in threes, I'm 3/3. Broke a rib surfing, a family member passed away and now my 300E just got smashed.

I was stopped at a red light in traffic and a woman rear-ended me doing about 15 MPH. Her car (Plymouth Caravelle) was toast. The rear of my car suffered quite a bit of damage. She hit the bumper and then her car slid under mine. The impact popped my trunk lid. The damage as I could see it was - both taillights gone, some frame damage (not extensive, but still bent), the trunk lid, muffler torn off, spare tire storage area damaged.

I think the insurance company will fix the car for me (i.e. not a write-off). I'm wondering if there is any other damage I should be worried about from this type of an accident? The transmission? Differential? Engine mounts?

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm still kinda foggy from the whole thing. Thx.

Hi Zeus - sorry to hear about your baby. My heart goes out you. I love mine as much as you love yours. Hope insurance fixes it for you. Be sure to take all receipts for work done on the car in the last two years as they will take that amount into account when coming to a value on the car for deciding to repair or scrap. They might boost the value enough to ensure a repair job. Best of luck

Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

It was a beautiful trip - perfect weather. Broke my rib on the last day on a large wave. Wiped out, board smashed my chest. Corona time back at the cottage.

Actually, I think it was Tequila I resorted to...

Sorry to hear that. I'd be so pissed off if I was you. I have the intention of keeping my first car until it really cannot be kept for whatever reason. I know it sounds crazy

The damage doesn't sound so bad. Do what Alon did Find someone to do it for less and see if you could add a few things to the car... Maybe an AMG muffler

you know what I mean...

BTW, there is nothing better than a few bottles of Corona + Lime (dohh) in summer! I love it!

Uh-Oh

Zeus, I had the same thing happen to me just about, but no broken bones or family members, but I did manage to break every car my family owns.

I got into an accident, My brothers range rover blew the radiator on me, My dads SL l0ost the Tranny on me, My dad's Rolls lostt he brakes on me, and my rental car blew the head gasket. This was allw ithin a 2 week period.

I've now been forbidden from driving my dads new (used 1997 Range ROver 4.6) toy.

Some stupid woman hit my 300E one day on the highway. Damage was 550 but I got 1200 for the car and 3400 for medical from the insurance. You should go to the doctor immediately. Based on the frame damage your car received you also might have received some "frame" damage. Also, call her Insurance and tell them to give you a rental car right now not tomorow, now. And make sure you make a big fuss so the insurance officer will be forced to get you a rental car. It is amazing how these W124 handle in an accident. If you get a dent the other guy gets totalled. I would like to know how a W140 handles in an accident must be like a Merkava Tank. (Went to Israel this Winter, I sat on the turet of one of those tanks at the Latrune museum.) The engines in those tanks are V18 Twin Turbo Diesel

That's the only thing that bothers me about this car

Now I have a car that I have to worry about idiots smashing into and door dingers. My other cars I could just park anywhere and didn't really care if they got hit.
