2007 E550 retro fit question....
Hello everyone. I'm trying to run my 07 e550 on a some what of a budget so here is my question. Can I replace the rear shocks (not the airbags or anything to do with them) just the three position setting electric shocks with the standard ones and do away with the shock firmness adjustment. I ask as the valve adjustable are $575 and the non adjustable are $80. Please tell me I can just disconnect the adjustable and store the electronic wire well up and out of the way. I mean, isn't the function to dampen the bumps and or firm up the corner capability.....
Thanks everyone. |

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum! I've attached a link to one of our site's DIY tech articles on the W211 shock replacement if you need a guide for the process. Post a Comment just below the article with your retrofit question and our master tech should be able to shed some light on if this is doable. Hope this helps and best of luck!
