W126 300SDL windshield leaking at top edge

I found the leak : It is dripping from the windshield down on the steering wheel!
Had the interior cover off and saw it drip there. With the cover in place I was fooled for a long time: the cover would drain the leak away to the left and right pillar and get water down to my vent areas left and right side and eat up the wood trim. I always thought the water will come from the sun roof or from the vent directly....

So I need to reseal that windshield.
Has anyone removed the exterior aluminum trim around the edge of the windshield. Anything to know? How is the trim held in place? any clips and tricks?

Is there a good product to use resealing the windshield after sealing surfaces are open?

Martin
