Help with 1970 250 turn signals
 

We have a 1970 250 2.5L 6 Cyl.

Runs really nice but has aa few issues I'd like to sort out, first on the list being the turn signals.

All lights work, dash and the signals, but all we ever get is a fast click, so we're just manually tapping the lever for now.

Just wondering where to start looking. I assume it;s either a ground or a clicker issue? As I said, the lights seem to work fine so I'm ruling out a bulb issue.

The 1970 model should have the "pull knob" to activate the flashers. If so then the flasher/relay is located in the center console. Most of the time you can open the "can" and clean up the internals. They are available but they are fairly pricey.

A common cause for a fault is an aftermarket stereo/alarm which has been installed incorrectly.

I think my original post wasn't clear. I'm not talking about the hazards, but the blinking turn signals.

Ours aren't blinking but a fast pulse, just like an American car when it's got a bad bulb.

Same relay/flasher on the 1970 model for turns and hazards. MB didn't go to a separate relay for the directional's until the mid 1972 model.

This might help you. It is for the W114/115's but will most likely be the same as your W113 as far as the wiring.

I've never had any problem with the link but YMMV.

Do a search on the forum for W114 flasher relay. I'm pretty sure there's a posting showing how to clean/repair the relays.
