bypassing neutral safety switch question on my 78 280se

I have searched and see that terminal block under battery can be jumped to crank starter.my question is: which wires to jump?.terminal block has three wires in vertical row.top has large wires middle smaller purple lower wire white.i tried jumping top 2 but no crank.should I be jumping top and lowest wires?
