560SL intake manifold question

So the manual (14-450) says nothing about sealant when installing the intake manifold on a 560SL. What type should I use and where exactly should I apply it? Anything to avoid? I hate to even ask but sure enough I'll wish I had later. Better safe than sorry.

It says nothing because you shouldn't use any. That's the whole idea of the gasket. It's important to split the plenum and replace the rubber Doughnut seals. Otherwise, just replacing the manifold gaskets alone will make the job worthless.

Yeah, the donuts are why I'm taking the manifold off. Have to replace the tps so figured I might as well do the intake. Wow, no sealant. I just wanted to be sure of a small detail before I put it all back. Thanks
