Good morning all, I just purchased a very nice 91 420sel but it is now apparent the prior owner was having problems with the drivers latch / lock for some time. The rubber on the key was torn almost in half so I'm guessing some forcing. I have two issues - the key turns freely with no action, and secondly the latch in the door sticks in the closed position part of the time. That creates an undrivable situation because you can't close the door. I found a long post somewhere about the freewheeling tumbler so I'll try that. And I've lubricated the heck out of that latch but it still sticks. So LONG way of asking, when those latches start sticking is replacing about the only option. Btw the vacuum system works perfectly from passenger side to lock and unlock all doors and trunk. Thanks!
