83 240D Seat/Seat Cover interchangebaility/ Seat repair

Are the various W123 seats ie 85 300D 83 240D interchangeable?

I have a bad seat in my Grey 85 300D, the Wire cage frame is messed up and ripping up my clothes (and butt) , seat fabric color is a yellowish green . I found an 83 240D seat with a tan fabric.

Can I easily remove the tan skin from the 84 240D seat and easily put the yellowish green skin on as a replacement? It doesnt look too easy..

Does anyone have any ideas?
