Are the various W123 seats ie 85 300D 83 240D interchangeable?

I have a bad seat in my Grey 85 300D, the Wire cage frame is messed up and ripping up my clothes (and butt) , seat fabric color is a yellowish green . I found an 83 240D seat with a tan fabric.

Can I easily remove the tan skin from the 84 240D seat and easily put the yellowish green skin on as a replacement? It doesnt look too easy..

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have never changed a spring set, but have read that it is not a huge challenge.

I believe that all lower seat frames are the same as long as it is a US car. My Euro cars are different.

Can't speak to the interchangeability question , but I did replace the cushions in the seat of my 1979 240D, which entailed removal of the covers.

It was not really very difficult; I would say the main requirement is to take one's time and work carefully.
