Idle surging Mercedes Benz 1995 E320 Cabriolet

Comments: I have a 1995 e320 Cabriolet with 136,000 miles. I have surging at idle and an odor like too much fuel getting to the Catalyst. My DTC codes are 16 & 10. I have replaced the MAF and the Throttle Body. Yesterday the car actually stalled. After the car is warmed up it seems to go into limp mode and will then stop surging. I would really like to get this sorted. Thank you

Might be the O2 sensor. That will make for an uncontrolled mixture if it goes bad.

The fuel pressure regulator on my 95 E320 was leaking fuel into its vacuum port. May not account for the surging but will definitely cause a rich mixture. Easy to check and replace.
