w124 87 door lock replacement

Since the locks and keys are no longer available from MB, I need to improvise. The driver lock has been bunged up somehow and the key cannot be inserted completely. Wondering if the passenger lock tumbler and the driver tumbler are interchangeable? Passenger side is perfect and working well. If I can change them out, I can at least partly solve a problem...

Thanks.

How about do away with the key and use keyless remote? You have back up access using passenger door and trunk lock.

If you don't care about your factory alarm being armed, just swap the whole door handle from the passenger side to the driver's side. A ten minute job.

I managed to carefully clean out the door lock and it is now functional. The weather protector alum disc has been removed and the lock is in good shape - it was just full of debris. I'm missing the weather disc or whatever its called. Not sure if those can be acquired. Ultimately I'm going to change to keyless anyway.
