check engine light was good,but greed made them use limp mode to make money.I think thats evil of companies.They make enuff profitt with robotics,and cheap overseas labor

Limp mode(s) are a way to protect the affected system from further damage. Would you want your transmission to attempt to shift into 2nd gear and 5th gear at the same time?

Other systems use similar protective logic. Traction control, cabriolet roof systems, and pneumatic locking are just a few examples of systems that will block function under certain circumstances.

Some of us old-timers find it hard to accept but it really is to our advantage that these systems exist.
