124: Ventilation System- Is this normal?
I just like to have air moving through the car, sometimes including the foot wells. When the button is set to EC, often no air comes out of the foot well outlets.
I can roll the temp selector towards heat and then they open and warm air comes out. Is this normal? I don't remember my other cars doing this.

Yeah, this is completely normal. The basic rule of thumb is that warmed air comes out the footwells, cooled air comes out the center dash vents, and everything comes out the side dash vents. When the car is in a 'crossover' zone between heating and cooling it may open both the dash and footwell vents, but this is relatively uncommon in my experience. The 124 shop manual a/c section describes the logic used to determine air flow, recirculation, etc - but it's so complex I can't figure it out!

OK thanks. It just seemed to me I could get air (warmed if so adjusted) anytime from the foot well area and I thought suddenly something was wrong.
