I HAVE A 94 E320 I HAVE REPLACED THE AIR &
FUEL FILTER, REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND
I STILL HAVE A MISS. SOMETIMES AN OCCASIONAL
BACKFIRE SOUND WHEN I CAR IS WARMED UP
AND I DROP SPEED TO IDLE. I HAVE HAD DEALER
CHECK IT SEVERAL TIMES. (HE REPLACE THE
MOTOR MOUNTS THE FIRST TIME, BUT COULDN'T
FIND THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF THE MISS.

If the spark plugs are the least bit loose, they will cause a lean condition in that cylinder and lean pop. Also I have seen water enter the top of the engine and sit between the plug and the coil cause this. Usually this happens after the engine is steam cleaned.... Be sure the small hose clamp is tight that holds the air intake pipe to the throttle body.
