1993 Mercedes 190e Sportline LE with Red Recaro

Mercedes Benz 1993 Sportline LE, Limited production of 700 cars for N. America built to celebrate the 11 successful production years from 1982-1993. 1993 being the last year. The 2.6-liter inline-six produced 160 horsepower when new and is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. For model year 1993, MBUSA sold 16,513 W201s, including the 1,400 Limited Editions. 700 2.3 litre Limited Edition Emerald Green versions and 700 2.6 litre Black versions

The 2.6 litre Sportline included Recaro seats with red inserts and red piping, rear matching headrests, carbon fiber trim, sportline gear shift, a sportier steering wheel, headlight wipers, low profile tires, 8 spoke rims, and a sportline tuned suspension which added tighter handling and lowered the car by a quarter inch. The suspension was the same suspension as the 190e Cosworth.

So, The reason I'm asking.....who has one??
Is there a registry?

I've seen prices all over the map.

Personally I think the prices on BringATrailer are a bit inflated, but it gives you a decent indication. Don't expect to get those prices on Craigslist, your ad will be up for months.

Ive seen them in Europe for $12k Euros.
And I did see that BAT one. One in Texas also sold for $12k, usd recently

1993 Used Mercedes-Benz 190 Series SPORTSLINE CARBON FIBERt TRIM RECARO SEATS at Luxury AutoMax Serving Chambersburg, PA, IID 18378618

I think they are higher than $3k on Craigslist.
I see very nice 190e regular cars sell for $4-5000.

And the interiors always for for a few $thousand on their own

Does anyone have one and can attest to whether they are worth picking up. One surfaced locally and its mint.

Locally an owner has one for sale and its very mint. Has about $10-15k worth of recent restoration work. New wheels, new AC, New brakes, exhaust tires etc etc. New window motors.
$10,-$12K seems to be common

I bought one for my daughter (see the thread here - not a lot of love from this forum: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-benz-cars-sale/387439-wtb-daughters-first-car-socal-inland-empire.html), paid $3,100 and then had to put a head gasket on it, so I'm into it for about $5k currently. If you're considering $10k-$12k, I'd say I'm WAY ahead of the game.

Best Regards,
Rob

$5k seems pretty cheap. Although with head gasket and AC issues - it becomes a $7k pretty fast.
