outside of box - break pump

Hi I have 1994 E280 station wagon. The vehicle has been professionaly re-powered with OM603 couple of years ago. Its an automatic transmission. Putting the Diesel engine in resulted in a need to create a vacuum for the auto transmission to work properly and later to bleed the vacuum through a valve. I understand there can be 12v electric pump installed to do the job. I was advised that the proper way to do it would be to utilise a break pump to do so instead together with using another solenoid to make it all work . Anyone has got any experience with the subject ? any info, lead etc really appreciated PS I am not a mechanic , bare with me ) Cheers Too

Any reason why you wouldn't use the stock mechanical vacuum pump?

Agreed, why not use the stock mechanical pump? Why reinvent the wheel? The stock setup is extremely reliable. The vacuum valve should already be present on the injection pump.
