08 E350 Battery Vent Location

Where is the exit point for the battery vent tube? Any chance of a picture? I can’t look at the car until Monday anyway.

Thank you in advance.

If it is running an AGM type battery you won't need a vent tube.

Thanks engatwork, I've read that AGM's should be vented and that they don't need to be vented. Supposedly there is an internal valve that could release in an overcharge situation??? There is a tube and 90 degree elbow laying in the battery compartment; but, I don't know if it is original to the car or if it was from a replacement battery.

The replacement battery is an AGM. Do you know if OE was AGM?

The car is very nice and, I'd like to keep it completely original.

Put an AGM in it and be through with it and don't worry about the vent tube.

Have you owned the car since new? Was the OEM battery in it when you got the car? If there is no hole anywhere then I'd assume AGM was OEM. Someone may have changed out the battery prior to your ownership that was not AGM resulting in the vent tube laying in there.
