Blower/AC problems
I can not get my blower or AC to function. w126 86 560SEL
Just a few weeks ago the blower was working. I had taken out the factory 30amp fuse and put in a 30amp strip fuse because it had melted the previous one right out of the bottom of the fuse box. I had not tried it in the last weeks or even started the car for that matter The AC used to work years ago but i stopped using it because of the blower fuse and the car got in an accident. Yesterday i took the AC apart cleaned the lines/new expansion valve/drier/pressure switches/new oil in compressor/vacuumed it. I go to charge it and cant get anything to turn on with the climate control unit (blower/fan). I checked all fuses (5 i believe for the ccu and 16 for the blower which i moved to outside the box) and they are good. There are 2 wires to the blower 1 red 1 blue. The red is hot all the time(when the car is running). If i take the blue wire off and ground the connection the blower will spin but the buttons on CCU will not adjust speed it just blows full power. My first guess is that the CCU is bad and to replace it. I just keep thinking that it worked a few weeks ago controlling the fan. I tried to use another one from a 126 85 360sl but they are not compatible. I want to keep thinking its a ground i pulled lose or messed up somewhere getting to the expansion valve because my gas gauge is going on and off and flicking around a lot(did not do that before) but i have gone over everything i did 10x and cant find anything lose/pulled apart. Any advice on where to start looking or buying is appreciated. Last edited by Whaling; 02-12-2020 at 10:23 PM. |
