Hello:
I own a 1986 420SEL and I am considering changing the rear seal on the engine myself. I have access to a fully operational lift and garage with all the parts and tools I need. All I need to know from someone is: Is this a job that my son and I can accomplish in a reasonable amount of time? Will I run into any special tool requirements during the job? While I have the transmission off, is there anything I need to replace while I have the tranny off? Is this a job I should try to do myself or do I absolutely need to spend all that money at the Mercedes Dealer? Any help is appreciated! Bill |
