93 300te with 94 E320 parts car
So I've got a running driving reliable but rough 94 E320 that's basically worthless, other than it has a solid motor (with a ton of miles)
and a bunch of other good parts and I know how it's lived the last 20K miles. There's a neglected 93 300te wagon for a grand, likely less, that's been sitting a few years with a bad trans locally. My 94 is un-fixable, badly repaired weird accident damage to the front crossmember (previous owner). In this very un-euro area I'd be lucky to get $800 out of it. So I was thinking I could use a slightly beat up but un-wrecked wagon for hauling parts, dogs and kids around. Is there any screaming reason I couldn't use my 94 as a parts car? Will the SLS pump swap over to my motor, will my updated engine harness work in the 93, stuff like that. I assume i can use my 94's larger brakes, and maybe swap the facelift front end parts over, who knows what else.

The body parts fit, the SLS pump may fit - as I beleive the mounting points are similar.

From what I remember reading when wondering about this, it will require quite a bit of wiring work to adapt an HFM M104 engine and/or transmission onto a CIS M103 car.
Since you have an entire running donor car, I believe it should be doable if you are up to it. No idea about the SLS pump, as mentioned body parts will swap over, same with the brakes as long as you swap over the other parts needed for clearance like the front lower control arms. |
