W126 - '87 560SEL - Driver's Seat Back adjustment moves forward, no recline

Hey all. Need help with my Driver's Seat Backrest adjustment, '87 560SEL

Problem: It moves forward, but does not recline. I can hear the relay click when I try to recline it.

Switch: OK, all switches work, except recline.

Module: I don't think it's the module. I can save position memories and select them with no problem (when I move the entire seat bottom forward and back, up and down, as a test).

Anyone have any tips? Most of the searches point to a door switch problem. But I don't have a problem with my switch since I can hear the relay click when I try to recline the seat back, no motor whir.

Again, moving the seat back forward works (it's really upright and borderline uncomfortable).

You might try a little steel wool on the switches. Sounds like rust from lack of use.

I had that problem on a W208, guy that fixed it said he cleaned the switches too. Not sure if it was the socket or the switch itself.

Maybe try cleaning contacts as mentikned above, and dousing the switch with contact cleaner?

Oh, and when I had that problem, the memory presets still worked to move the seats forward if they were set that way, try pressing your presets.
