Valve cover gasket m271 engine

Hey all!

I have an 05 c230 kompressor (m271 engine) and wondering if it is reccomended to use any type of mercedes genuine sealant where the rubber gasket meets the metal surface? On my old w202 model I just put the gasket on dry and had no issues, though im getting conflicting information about this particular 05 c230 model youtube and other mb forums. The gasket on the 05 c230 seems rather flimsy. I attempted last week to do this repair but used a Mahl brand gasket from rock auto. Most likely since it wasn't genuine mercedes and maybe using too much black mercedes sealant.. oil was still seeping specifically on the passenger side of the valve cover.

I now ordered a genuine gasket and ready to take on the job again...

For this model, is it reccomended to put any sealant? Or just lay the rubber gasket on dry ensuring it sticks to the plastic valve cover?
