Getting a w140
I’m getting a ‘93 400SEL with only 58k miles on it from a friend at the end of the month. It needs some new paint and caps and rotors. Anything else I need to know about this beast? I’ve always been more of a w126 guy. - Mike

wow that's low miles for a 93 engine harness goes bad (bio wiring), wires inside throttle body, a/c evaporator (notorious for going bad and ~23 hours book time to change), accumulator spheres for the Self leveling suspension in the back with 58k miles that's all I can think of except for other obvious maintenance items like filters and stuff. Check the fuel tank for rust if the car sat |

Replace the "insulator plate" inside the distributors while you have them apart. The M119 will eat your lunch with running problems when (not if) they allow moisture and oil vapor to collect in the distributor cap.

Air conditioning is a known weak spot on all W140 models. Plus it requires the whole dash to be removed to fix.
