Looking at another euro 500SEL, some oddities

Hello everyone,
I have kept my eyes out for a euro 500 for years and one came up near Orlando. There are two items I’m not sure of on the car. In place of the tach there is a digital gauge and between the window switches there are more buttons. Anyone have any clue what they are?

I’d be buying this sight unseen and have it shipped to me, so the whole idea has me nervous.

Thanks for your time

Since you are asking for identification of apparent aftermarket items, could we reasonably conclude that the seller has refused to do the same?
The pictures are a bit out of focus, but the labeling would appear to be in a language other than English.

It may come as a surprise, but German cars made for the German market had gauges and switches labeled in German. If you're not sure what it is you're talking about, less snark would be a good idea.

To the OP, the funky instrument in the cluster is the trip computer. Not a common item, and extremely desirable to the 560 crowd, mainly for the "look what I have" factor. The buttons in the center console are controls for it from what I gather.

The owner has no clue other than they have never worked, I was hoping someone had come across them before.

This is the "Reiserechner", pretty cool and rare option. Likely this car should have the 4 corner hydropneumatic suspension too?

the above post brings up a good point-the hydro suspension. there's 3 types for 126s over the years and it's likely the shock for yours are no longer available. been through this with other grey 126s. there's a builder in ny someplace who can rebuild them for about 500/ea.

probably need to get someone to look at it before purchase. could be a shiny can of worms.

Can you revert to standard shocks?

Thank you all for the information. They Hydro suspension was a real concern for me. The seller was unsure if it had it. I also found it strange that it had an airbag and 4 wheel ABS. My old Euro 500 had the bus wheel and front ABS.

I think it maybe best to keep waiting and watching. I appreciate your help!

On a euro w126 you can tell by what's next to the headlight switch:

pull knob - 4 wheel hydro
nothing - just rear hydro
headlight leveling switch - regular springs/shocks all round

I think that 4 wheel hydro cars have a suspension warning light on the right side of the cluster which I don't see in your first post.

Obviously the best way is to just look underneath but whatever

another reason to have someone look at it when the seller doesn't know what they have.

now that you are out, where in orlando? i'd like to look just for fun.

The things between the window switches I would say are on the left a lock out for rear doors or windows for child safety. On the right it appears to be a blank cover.
