Does your rpm gauge drop when the fuel pump goes out?

I got a similar problem with only stallings now and then. I did replace the ovp because I had the older one with only one fuse on top and it was made in 1987. I read somewhere one the forum these can cause trouble...

The stallings did occur in about half a year until a week ago when I went on a trip. After driving for some hours following things happend: the rpm gauge droped to zero and engine died/missed. Then it continue running as nothing happened. This can happen at any rpm but yet it not at idle...

I want to locate this problem and been reading forums. Could clogged injector cause this?
