This has probably been posted before, but is there any way to improve the performance of the standard wiper arm/blade. I've tried replacing the rubber blade, with temporary improvement. It will still smear and generally make the glass dirtier! Is there any aftermarket blade/arm that anyone recommends? thanks

Yes, this question has been covered.
Select "search" in the upper right hand corner of this page. Search for the word "wiper" and you will find several messages. Look for the message titled "Three Problems with 1998 E320W".
There you will find my step by step process to end wiper woes.
