1992 500sl Not running

I have a 1992 500sl that won't start. It will turn over but nothing more then that. This has been an ongoing thing. It started with intermittent running problems. It would start run perfect and then not restart when hot. I did take it to the dealer once and they did the usual distributor plug tune up thing. Cam position sensor replaced as well as OVP sensor.(suggestions from others). Fuel system appears to be working properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have had car since it had 31000 miles on it.. currently only at 71000.

gimme a parts shotgun and 3-5k and i can fix it. or, you can check for whether it has fuel, spark, compression, etc. then maybe we can help. the light here sucks, we can't see under your hood. there is no silver bullet for every no start, especially on a mercedes.

1. Disconnect the MAS relay (fuel pump relay)

2. Spray some starting fluid into the intake

you will get either one of 2 results:

1. If it starts then it's a fuel problem

2. If it doesn't start then it's a ignition problem
