M104 upper timing cover
95 e320
Can the upper timing cover be removed without taking the chain guide pin out? The little hex bolt is stripped and can’t access the pin

Yes it can be removed but no way can you install the upper cover with the pin in place

I managed to get it off and on without taking the guide pin out. Pain in the ass tho.

that may be my least favorite things about auto repair.....a two hour job that ends up taking 4 days because of some POS stuck faster or some other "little" obstacle that just won't go away!
