BECKER mexico help.

I found a old becker mexico plus amp in a junk car 1980 450sel.

It was pretty much frozen solid with corrosion.

Anyways I've been with it for hours and..everything works now except AM..and the ejector..for the tapes.

The button is electrical working cause I can here a slight buzz in the speaker when I push it...the solenoid I can see try to work...sometimes...sometimes it doesnt work at all...and other times it works fine for a bit.

Anyways...I'm not familiar with solenoids but..does it require a certain capacitance to give the force to pull..or is it just gummed up and I haven't cleaned it enough.

It's on it's own little circuit board with a couple of caps.

I'm sure if I hold the button and hit a bump in the road it will eject.

Oh..if anyone wants to just tell me why AM is always dead in old car radios...is it a transistor or is it that bar atenna I got to fiddle with?
