190 2.3 8v
Hello,
I recently bought a 1986 Mercedes 190e 2.3 8v 5 speed manual. I think it is in need of engine swap because the existing engine is pretty sluggish and seems to run on 3 cylinders only. Engine compression test showed 150 psi on first 3 cylinders and 120 psi on cylinder #4. My question is: will an engine from 1987 190e 2.3 8v be a straight swap? That engine is from a car with automatic transmission and it has only about 75K miles on it. Thank you |

Remove the valve cover and inspect the camshaft and rocker arms before you do anything else.
