1990 420sel blower fan, heating & cooling prob.

two years ago had my Freon checked , found a leak at the refill, fixed ran fine. last summer blower came on & off by its self , last winter heat at the outlets but no blower, took the blower out, cleaned and tested run fine, after installation blower ran fine for heat and air con, this spring. Now on air the blower comes on sporadically, now not at all, now have heat coming out of outlets with temp control on cold, pressing high or low or auto still no blower?
so I get heat at the outlets but no blower in winter, now cold at the outlets no blower, just recently get heat not cold at outlets, no blower. since the car is 30 years old, and the fan runs fine when tested, could it be a temperature switch sensor and where is it located, thanks.

It could be the strip fuse that sits in its own little holder ahead of the main fuse box. They can develop micro cracks and lead to intermittent contact. Mine was intermittent and actually melted the housing! After I changed the strip fuse the blower started to work normally and never gave any issues anymore.

Does anyone know the name of that fuse strip? or Number under the lid of fuse box? or outside of fuse box?

It's a 30Amp strip fuse part no. 0005452034 (not even a dollar on this website)

In case you're curious the blower draws 6A on low speed and 20A on high

thank you yes, cluster, I put new fuses in the fuse box and cleaned up the fuse holder, still the same, its working now but tomorrow it may not, almost feels like a bad ground or another bad fuse some times it stays on for the whole trip, other times they dont come on or half way through a night trip they come on but its the whole panel that goes out. any thoughts?
