Key Use????
What exactly is the difference between the round and square keys heads for my W124 and what is the smaller key for?
Both operate the ignition and I have no glovebox. Just bought a 1994 . . . . grey market diesel wagon. Thanks! Last edited by jetspeed; 09-14-2021 at 06:36 AM. |

If one of the keys will not open the Trunk and or the Glove Compartment that is the Valet Key.
The idea was that the Valet could drive your car to park it but not get at any valuables in the Glove Compartment or the Trunk. That is what I remember reading on the forum somewhere but it was about W123's.

Mine is only supposed to have 2 keys so I don't know. I have not read of anyone having the small key.
Is there a locking fuel tank cap?

No locking fuel cap, it doesn't fit the MB factory roof rails, rear cargo compartments, center console locking compartment and like I said, I have no glove box. Thanks.

that actually looks like an older german car key. perhaps it isn't for the car the other keys are for
