How to remove a 1994 E320 wagon liftgate/rear window glass?
While I already got a replacement glass rear liftgate hatch window, I am still working on getting the remaining 3 parts to hold and secured the glass window.
1. Window Frame, part number 124-740-00-56, 2. (2 parts) Molding - Left 1Mercedes-Benz (124-745-01-55-7129), Molding - Right Mercedes-Benz (124-745-02-55-7129) 3. (2 pieces) Joint - Mercedes-Benz (124-745-00-80-7129) While I am still researching in getting the above-mentioned parts, another possibility of getting the parts is find another wagon that is similar to other models that uses the same parts. If I find one, I would like to know how to go about removing the wagon liftgate glass window? Do I remove both joint/clips using a flat screwdriver or knife to pop out the joint? After removing the joint/clips (one from the top, one from the bottom of the window glass), do I carefully and slowly on the removing (like peeling off) of the 2 molding parts and should pop out? After that, the window frame/seal should come out easily? Do I need special tools? Lastly, the glass remains in its place. No need to get the glass, since I already have one available. Is that how to go about removing the parts from the liftgate/hatch wagon as mentioned above? I wonder if the parts are usuable and hopefully not wear and tear items. Comments/advice/feedback is greatly appreciated. |
