Noisy Axle

I have a 300CE24v 1990. As soon as I take my foot of the gas ( normal speeds) there's a rattle coming from the rear. Originally thought loose exhaust claps etc.
Now everything points to a problem in the diff. Has anyone experienced problems like these? Is the input shaft adjustable?

Have you checked your prop shaft U-joints and rag joints?
