Ignition Coil fail W124 M103 260E 1987

Anybody ever have a coil fail like this?
Wife is driving to work and stops after 10 minutes for coffee to go.
Come back to car and cranks but no start.

Haul it home and after much monkey business install new coil.
Car started right up. Thanks.

look at the bracket around the coil. there's white spots where the voltage escaped. see that beforehand, replace the coil.

Old coil does have some white spots on bracket and bracket backside that resemble corrosion. Thank you for reply.
