W123 steering box rebuild...LHD v RHD

Hello

My RHD W123 has too much slop/play and needs rebuilt. The adjustment nut is completely seized so not sure if it's adjusted properly, and assume I need a reman box OR rebuild it myself.

Does anyone know if the rebuild kits are the same for RHD and LHD?

Many thanks
Jon

First you need to determine if the adjustment is indeed at the max point. The inner nut is turned OUT to adjust the box tighter. You need to break loose the outer locknut to adjust the inner nut out.

You should note that the adjusting screw (shaft) and locking nut aren't included in rebuild kits, but are available from MBZ - at least they were some years ago. Sorry, no info on R/L HD, but it makes sense that internals for the boxes would be the same.
