On my 85 500SE (gray market), the bulb behind the a/c fan switch on the console is (hopefully) burned out. I've got the new bulb, but don't know how to replace it. Do I simply YANK off the knob? I've pulled it about as hard as I think I should, but it doesn't want to come off. Am I simply not pulling hard enough? I sure don't want to break anything...

Usually the knobs on most things that Mercedes builds do just pull off. However just look at the bottom of it to make sure there is no release pin or set screw in the bottom of it! If not pull and it will come off>
