Engine Cooling System Pressure Test Kit and Coolant Tank Adapter

Looking for a high quality cooling system pressure test kit suitable for a 166 chassis equipped with 276 motor.

Assenmacher manufactures a premium quality coolant tank adapter (AST M034919) version of the Mercedes cooling system test cap (210 589 00 91 00) to pressurize a cooling system; any recommendations as to a suitable high quality pressure test kit that would be compatible with either of these adapters?

Agreed! Pressure testing is nothing more than just exerting enough pressure to find a leak. As long as you get a good seal and the required amount of pressure, you should be good to go.

It's not a matter of overthinking... it's an attempt to make an educated selection. There are over 60 different items alone on the first page of the link provided... and the link continues on for 5 pages, presenting over 250 items to choose from. Prices from under $30 to over $300. Most of the manufacturer names are unfamiliar and on close inspection many of the products are Chinese in origin.

Was just looking for guidance in selecting a durable, quality product.

How often do you plan on pressure testing your cooling system? Typically you can find a leak fairly quickly unless a head gasket leak is suspected and even still, that would show up in the form of a milk shake in your oil, a stream of coolant down the side of your engine block, or rapidly overheating and boiling over coolant from the overflow tank (exhaust gases in the coolant). You can just rent a decent quality test kit from the local parts store. If you are set on having the best, then purchase one directly from MB
