Dash light bulbs
Dear Forum:
Great forum, I have always gotten good information here. Two problems today, first: How do I remove the dash or otherwise get to the intrument lights? I have a burned out bulb that needs to be replaced. Second, my gas guage is now intermittent. When it is working it reads correctly, but much of the time the unit is just dead, as in the needle reads empty. What is the most likely cause of this, and is there a fix? Thank you all so very much for your assistance, Chuck |

if you have an adjusting steering column, you do not have to remove the steering wheel. if you can't adjust it the steering wheel needs to come off.MB uses special hooks to pull out the cluster. if you don't have them, remove the under dash panel under the steering wheel. reach under the dash to push the instrument cluster out. remove the 2 electrical plugs.

Get the special hooks to pull the cluster from MB. They are $10-$18, and well worth it. You can use them for a variety if little tinker jobs. I resisted buying mine for years. Bought some this weekend to replace my instrument bulbs and they have become a new friend.
