Will 1980 injectors work in 1983 turbo engne

I have a parts 1980 engine. Are those injectors the same as a 1983 turbo?. It’s a 300d. I have an injector leaking and I don’t think it’s the return hoses. Maybe the metal return fitting is leaking or above the return hose.

Side note. I blew into the return hose and it seemed a little restricted but I was able to blow air in. I suppose the return goes back to the tank. All thoughts appreciated.

Will any deep socket 21mm. Work to take injectors out? Mike

They're not the same injector. They may look similar, but they have a different nozzle, different spring internally, and different pop pressure. Make sure the return hose is TIGHT on the injector, if they're easy to press on and off they'll leak.

123:

You will get more replies to a Diesel question by posting in the Diesel section rather than in the Gasoline section.

Non turbo injector pops at 115psi. Turbo version pops at 135psi.

You probably can fit a 115psi injector to the turbo engine and it will run. How well? I don't know but should be ok. Check for any leak. It should be leaking from the nipple or the return line, unlikely leaking from the body itself.

I thought my search did not pull up much since I was in the gasser section. Oops

I’m see if I can pull one from my old engine. The thought of wasting precious fuel makes me Ill. The return hose is sort of new and I cut it off and reattached it to make sure the hose was ok. Stay tuned.
