Ok, I have a '07 R320 and a fault code reader. Sometimes it runs great with no issues. Just as often it locks up the left rear wheel or the transmission will stop shifting the ABS light comes on the speedtronics shut off (so no cruse control) and throw anywhere from 3-13 faults. They all can be traced back to the wheel speed sensor on the left rear wheel does not match the rest of the speed sensors. My first thought was I have a bad sensor, so I changed it. It did not help I got a second one because sometime these are bad from the factory and changed it again. Still no help. I have pulled the hub and found that the CV axle is quite rusty where the sensor reads. I cleaned it up a little with a wire brush before putting it back together. That made it work for about 100 miles then the problem returned with more wheel lock ups. When I clear the codes it runs great again for anywhere from 2 to 50 miles then the problems start again. I am just confused by the intermittent problem. Is this a known problem, meaning has anyone else had this, or am I the unlucky person that gets the weird issue as per usual?
More importantly does anyone have a fix short of replacing the CV axle? I figured I would ask here before I made that move. I think that is my next move.
