I have a 190E 2.3L that has a hard start after it has warmed up. I have tried everything, but I decided to remove the air flow meter (housing) that the fuel distributor sits on.

Upon removal I notice a pool of gas sitting on the butterfly of the throttle valve housing. Is that correct? I tend to think that it is not, but I thought I would ask and see what you guys think.

If that is not correct I could see why it would cause a hard start because it is sucking raw fuel into the cylinder.

If any body has any ideas or thoughts that would be terrific. I have already replaced the fuel distributor, but I replaced it with a used one. Could the air flow meter (housing) cause the fuel distributor to leak the fuel?
