hi, i have an 87 300E and i was wondering how to patch up the holes if i decide to remove the emblems from the back of my car. also how would i paint it, i don't need a body shop to do it right? thanks

Most of the later cars(like yours) have the emblems glued on w/self adhesive tape.

You can use a strong piece of fishing string to remove them with ease. Just put it behind the emblem and use it like a saw.

Also, is this the same for the big 3 star emblem in the middle? there aren't any holes? |

I use a heatgun (can use a 1200-1500 watt hair dryer also) when removing Factory applied emblems. Allows removal and re- application if careful. If you use an industrial type gun it works quicker, but be careful as they can get real hot and damage paint if not careful. Great for removal of tape pin-striping. |
