Just a quick question from someone who has always owned front-wheel drive cars. What's the best way to check for play on front wheel bearings on a 190E? I get a vibration and quiet hum noise on hard right turns, and am suspecting my front wheel bearings.
And, the more important question: How hard are they to replace? TIA Jason |

They are not too hard to replace, but it is essential that they be properly adjusted. If not you will be doing it all over again soon! To check just pick the car up on a lift and rock the tire from top to bottom, there should be no play in the bearings, but no preload either.
