I have a grey market 1985 500SE. The manual (the one you keep in the glovebox) says my tank is around 26 gallons. But EVERY TIME the low fuel indicator light comes on, I can only get about 20 gallons into the tank. The gauge will be reading empty, too.
I'm too paranoid (it's too hot to walk to a gas station when it's 105 degrees out) to let the car run out of gas to see, once and for all, just how much fuel I can get into the tank. Is my gauge and indicator light fercocked, or is the tank on my car smaller than 26 gallons? As ALWAYS, thanks to everyone associated with Mercedes Shop!
